So, my computer broke.

I got in touch with tech support, went through the trouble shooting, and they eventually told me it was going to have to be sent in. It sucks, but if that is what I am going to have to do, so be it. Yet, through the entire thing, I asked if I could pay by money order, since I do not have a bank account. I was told yes, but they would need a credit card as a security. So I asked my job, and they said only if there is no charge. An authorization or hold is okay, but not a charge. HP said that would be the case, I told work that would be the case, and surprise surprise, they charged the card.

This P*ssed me off since not only did they lie to me, they made a liar of me.

So, I went to get that changed. Now HP is telling me that they cannot take money orders. This is a kicker since throughout I was told I would be billed and could send a money order. So I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told they would have to call me back.

They didn't call back.

So I called them again. I got moved up the food chain, until I reach the supervisor's supervisor's supervisor. They told me that nothing could be done, that they could only cancel the service, and that there was no higher that I could go. It was at this point I asked him to explain to me why I was lied to, why I can't get the service I was promised, why it was unusual of me to expect that to get the service I was promised, and to explain it to me like I was a four year old because I was obviously stupid. He said he would put me on with a case manager and they would take care of me.

It was at this point that I pointed out that there was a higher up and that he also lied to me.

He said the case manager would have to call me back.

They didn't call.

So I called Palo Alto and got in touch with HR. HR put me on the phone with a case manager. I told her what happened, how I was no longer angry or frustrated, just severely disappointed, and that all I wanted was to pay the way that was available to me.

She instead said there would be no charge for parts and labor and shipping. I asked her if heard her correctly.

The service is now free.

How is that for a rant?

UM... JEEZ!

You're like me Bob. If businesses pull that crap I sink my teeth in and don't stop til they give me what I feel I deserve, and then a little more for my trouble. I've had trouble like this with phone services, my bank (who I'm in the process of getting the thousands back that they took for overdraft fees over the years). It's such a headache, but companies do rely on people who let themselves get screwed over.

Good going dude, don't ever let the b*st*rds win!

I hope your computer gets fixed man computers are pretty expensive almost like a mortgage but what are you going to do now? I hope that they won't charge you a but load of money if they do then they are bastards people shouldn't have to pay a but load of money just to have a computer or a car and those are like necessities these days without them your screwed especially in college man they have so many assignments that you involves you using a computer to a point where it would be impossible to do.

The best part about college is how they look at you like you are crazy if you do not have internet access, or a computer. Then they say you can use the ones at school, but they are only available at inconvenient times if you have to work for a living.

The best was when I was told to go to a friend's house to watch TV so I could do an assignment.

I still don't have a car. I do pretty good without one. They are too damn expensive and the insurance would kill me. It would be less money for food, like sock sandwiches (yummy!).
